Two year old Shirley suffers from a rare form of epilepsy that is drug and treatment resistant. Shirley has many seizures daily which have only gained in severity with each failed treatment. Shirley will be having a complete corpus callosotomy (an operation that cuts the corpus callosum) . They are hoping this interrupts the spread of seizures from hemisphere to hemisphere. This will be done at Philadelphia Children’s hospital July 18th. Shirley and her family will travel to Philly on July 17 and will stay in-patient for 2 weeks for surgery and rehab if all goes according to plan.
